Nan's Pumpkin Bread
This is a recipe from my grandmother, Nan. Her dishes were always yummy, eagerly welcomed, and eaten with having seconds in mind. Many of her recipes have been passed down and are now treasures being shared with you!
Makes 2 loaves
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- 2 2/3 C Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 2/3 C Shortening/Oil
- 2 C Pumpkin
- 3 1/3 C Flour
- 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
- 2 Tsp. Soda
- 1 Tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 Tsp. Powdered Cloves
- 2/3 C Water
- 2/3 C Nuts
- 2/3 C Raisins (Optional)
Grease and flour loaf pans, bake 1 hour or until cake tester comes out clean ~
